Universities in Canada

  • Most universities allow Co op and Non Co-op programs

  • SAT/ACT not mandatory but preferred.

  • Applications open in October, applying early is preferred.

  • You may apply to as many Ontario universities/programs as you wish; however, you are limited to a maximum of 3 program choices at any 1 university (including its affiliates). Some universities may further limit the number of programs you can apply to.

  •  Normally in the good universities two LORs required.

  • Transcripts are to be send as per college instructions.

  • Statement of purpose is also required in few colleges.

  • Certain college programs may require additional documents.

  • Student can work while studying.

  • Permanent Residency facility is opened in few states in Canada. Student can apply after 1 year of being in college ( it takes around 5 years to get PR) and best part is the PR date starts from the day the student lands in Canada, that saves one year.

  • Normally people think getting PR in Canada is the stepping stone to get Green Card in the USA.

  • English proficiency- 6.5 and above in IELTS, 86 and above in TOEFL

  • All India Senior School Certificate awarded by CBSE / Indian School Certificate awarded by CISCE.
    Year 12 State Board Exams with excellent results will also be considered individually.

 

Brock University

Entry Requirements: 

  • All India Senior School Certificate awarded by CBSE (after 12 years); Indian School Certificate (awarded by ICSE)

  • English Proficiency test

  • IB - applicants who have successfully completed the IB diploma with the appropriate prerequisite subjects will be considered for admission and may be awarded a maximum of 3.0 transfer credits for HL examinations completed at a minimum grade of 5. A scholarship worth $1,000 will also be granted. Applicants who successfully complete an IB certificate program with a minimum of six subjects, including prerequisites, may also be considered for admission and transfer credit.

McGill University

Entry Requirements:

  • Higher Secondary School Certificate / All India Senior School Certificate / Indian School Certificate

  • The minimum requirements are an overall average of 60% in each year, as well as in all prerequisite subjects. Most programs are more competitive and require higher grades; applicants who present the minimum requirements are not guaranteed admission.

  • Predicted IB results. If IB Diploma is completed, a copy of the final results is required in lieu of the above.
