Georgetown University

Situated in a historic hilltop residential neighborhood of Washington DC, Georgetown university is surrounded by cobblestone sidewalks, colonial houses and hundreds of restaurants and shops. Some of the residential blocks have amazing views of DC and the Potomac river.

Although Georgetown has more graduate students than undergraduates (11,000 versus 7,000) the faculty works very closely with the undergraduate students. When applying, undergrads can select the Georgetown College (for majors in the humanities and sciences) or the School of Foreign Service (for a rigorous education in one of 7 majors related to International Politics) or the School of Business (for a choice of 8 different majors from Finance to Marketing).

Georgetown is one of the most selective universities in the US and they have their own application form (they are not on the common app). While they do recommend 3 SAT subject tests they do make allowances for strong international candidates.
